This past Saturday, Lassen Youth Wrestling Association traveled to Alturas and competed in the Modoc Youth Wrestling Annual Tournament. LWA put on a clinic with approximately 15 wrestlers.

In the Modoc Tournament, wrestlers are allowed to compete in either two different ages or weights and many of our wrestlers did just that, taking home more metals than wrestlers that competed. LWA took home 16 gold metals, 3 silver and 3 bronze.

To start out the day 4 year-old Rylee Mongomery showed that she will follow in the family tradition by taking home a medal. Meanwhile, siblings Chase and Hailey grabbed some hardware of their own with two first place finishes.

As far as families go, the Christensens dazzled their former mat partners from Modoc, taking home 7 gold metals. Between Titus, Bing, Zeik and Blessin, the siblings went 26-0 on the day.

Brothers Dathan and Deshon Moore wrestled two golds, a silver, and a bronze away from the competition, while brothers Zak and Tucker Shall got gold and Bronze.

Jack Wright wrestled two weight classes and took home two gold metals for his collection, while Jack Heimbigner took home two silvers. Good job to both Jacks!

Last but not least, cousins Garrent Fleming and Gavin Brewer got a gold and a bronze. Great job boys.

This weekend, LWA as a team will take a break, but Deshon and Dathan Moore, along with Titus Christensen will be competing in the USA Wrestling State Tournament in Fresno California.

Good Luck Boys!
