A well known 13 year-old Susanville girl and her family are reaching out to the community for financial help with treatment, travel, equipment and home modifications after she was diagnosed with Acute Flaccid Myelitis, a neurologic illness of sudden onset in children.
According to family Abby Dunn is currently at UC Davis Medical Center and is paralyzed from the waist down with a very long road to recovery.
Abby is the daughter of Bill Dunn and Jill Fish.
“Everyone who knows Abby is touched by her kindness and compassion towards others,” said Jodi Neuenschwander, Dunn’s Aunt.
“Abby loves animals and the outdoors.”
Jodi and her husband, Dustin Neuenschwander, are managing a Go Fund Me account on behalf of Abby’s family. All of the donations will be used towards food, lodging and making Abby’s home wheelchair accessible for her return.

We continue to ask for support and most importantly for prayers of healing and strength for our sweet Abby. She continues to smile through this life-changing event. She has a long way to go in the hospital and then eventually on to rehab. Her parents are so strong and are by her side every step of the way. We are so grateful and are truly blessed to be a part of all of this incredible love and support for our niece.”
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
There will be a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for Abby Dunn on Thursday, December 15th, from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at the Diamond Mt. Casino and Hotel.
The evening will also feature homemade desserts and a silent auction.
