ABC’s of Advocacy in Community Planning to be Topic of May 20th Workshop

Delivering the ABCs of Advocacy in Community Planning is the theme of an upcoming workshop presented by The Aurora Network, Lassen County Behavioral Health and the California Association of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations.

The day-long event will help you recognize your rights to participate in stakeholder activities which may shape public policy and services for years to come. Identify the background, values and mechanics to better act in the interests of your community, locate County processes and venues for stakeholder involvement, practice skills needed to effectively participate and collaborate to develop a plan for collective action.

The event, which is designed for those affected by mental health issues, peers, family members and others, will be held May 20th from 9:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. at 555 Hospital Lane in Susanville. Lunch will be provided and organizers ask that you register early so that they can get a count of attendees.

Up to 20 participants, who are not full time employees or paid to attend, will receive a $20 Food Gift Card.
