Banner Lassen Medical Center and the Banner Lassen Medical Center Foundation are inviting area residents to a low-cost family fun and fitness event being held at the Lassen County Fairgrounds on August 29th, from 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.
Organizers plan to have various activities, including professional hula-hoop lessons, face painting, tug of war and nine-hole Frisbee golf.
Kids will find lots to do at the event with attractions that include a ‘Pirate Mania’ section with three different activity stations.
Medals and prizes will be awarded to the competitors in the different events, both team and individual, as well as fun participation prizes for everyone.
“Part of the obstacle to achieving wellness is getting enough physical activity,” said Banner Lassen Medical Center CEO Catherine Harshbarger. “Family Fun Olympics gives the community a chance to overcome that obstacle together with fun activities.”
Soccer Team members and coaches from Lassen Community College will be hosting soccer lessons again this year. Representatives from the Lassen County Health Department will be on hand with Dandy the Smokeless Dragon along with Jeremy Germ and his Germ Lair, with story and coloring books. Informational booths will be participating from various agencies in Lassen County. The California Highway Patrol and other emergency services will display emergency vehicles and provide valuable safety information.
The Family Fun Olympics is free to enter, and a low-cost concession stand will serve hamburgers, hot dogs and more. The day is designed for children up to 14 years of age and their parents or other adult companions.
Volunteers from Banner Lassen Medical Center Foundation Board and employees in partnership with local community members will be on hand to help everyone enjoy their day of fun.
