City Hall Update: Drop in Water Pressure Most Likely Due to Increase in Usage

Despite a thorough investigation of water lines throughout town, the City of Susanville Water Department has not discovered any leakage according to an update from Interim City Administrator Kevin Jones. The city first announced an unusual drop in water pressure on Wednesday and asked customers to conserve as they traced the problem.

“The determination of the sudden decrease in the water supply is the result of an incredible increase in usage,” explained Jones. “We have identified several sources of the most usage and will be reaching out to the users to ask that they limit their water consumption.”

“As we continue to monitor this situation, we ask everyone on the City water supply to conserve as best they can. The Water Department will be publishing information on how to conserve water and avoid overuse.”

The City of Susanville will be implementing a significant reduction in watering of parks and lawns throughout the City, effective immediately.
