Congratulations to our Susanville Symphony Christmas Concert ticket winners Annie Henriques and Annette Sandborg! Annie and Annette each win a pair of tickets to this weekend’s performances.
The Susanville Symphony will bring glad tidings and the holiday spirit to Lassen County with its annual Christmas Concert performances slated for this Friday and Saturday, December 14th and 15th. This year the symphony will present the most Christmassy of all Christmas compositions, Handel’s Messiah. The oratorio for instrument and voice is most famous for its ringing “Hallelujah Chorus” and has been a perennial holiday favorite in Susanville for nearly three decades.
According to Symphony Artistic Director Ben Wade the Messiah was first conducted by former Lassen High band instructor Ray Craig, and later by music instructor Dennis Roberts.
This year Roberts will conduct the performances as the symphony is joined by more than 60 singers from Greenville, Chester, Susanville and other surrounding areas who form the ‘InterCounty Chorus.’
Performances are held at the Susanville Assembly of God Church on Richmond Road and premium seats are $30 each, general admission is $22 and you can buy tickets at Margie’s Book Nook or Axia Home Loans. For more information call the Symphony Hotline at 530.310.8111.
