Lassen County Superintendent of Schools Patricia Gunderson announced Friday that the annual Children’s Fair, which was originally scheduled for early May and postponed because of COVID, then rescheduled for this coming Saturday, will be cancelled because of concerns related to the Dixie Fire.
“It is with much disappointment, that I must announce that we will be cancelling the Children’s Fair,” said Gunderson.
“With the unsettled circumstances in our community and air quality, I feel this is the right decision at this time. Please send positive thoughts to those displaced. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
The Children’s Fair is one of several major local events that have been either postponed or cancelled because of the Dixie Fire.
