Dr. Bateson, Susanville’s resident meteorological expert, checks in with some really good news about the water levels up at Eagle Lake.
“I measured Eagle Lake this morning at 5092.23 feet,” Dr. Bateson said in his Monday, July 4th, update on lake levels , “which is 6.36 inches higher than last year on the same date.”
According to Bateson the lake has lost 5 15/16 inches since May 30th, but that is, “definitely better than last year.”
As for rain totals – Bateson measured .57 inches of rain in June for 105% of average for the month. That, according to Bateson’s records, brings us to 28.56 inches for the entire year, which equals 133% of average.
