The Lassen National Forest has announced plansĀ for hiring up to 75 temporary wildland firefighters for the 2018 fire season.
“The Forest is looking for a committed, hardworking, highly skilled workforce to manage wildfires,” theĀ agency said in their announcement.Ā “The work is very rewarding and requires talented and skilled people working safely as part of a team in a variety of specialized positions.”
The positions to be filled include hotshot/handcrew, helitack, engine/water tender, lookout, dispatch, and entry-level positions.
Duty stations include Chester, Forest Ranch, Mineral, Susanville, Hat Creek, Old Station, Fall River Mills, and Manzanita Lake. Details about specific jobs and locations can be found by following this link.
The vacancy announcements will open on www.usajobs.gov, Wednesday, January 10th and close on Tuesday, January 16th.
