Law Enforcement Training at Lassen College

0

The Lassen Community College ‘Peace Officers Standards and Training’ program hosted an Active Shooters Course on the LCC campus yesterday, with participants from the California Highway Patrol, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, Susanville Police Department, Sierra Army Depot Police Department and CalFire Law Enforcement.

The 8 hour training helped officers develop skills needed to respond safely and effectively in rapid response situations involving one or more active shooters.

The course included several simulation-based scenarios designed to place officers in a realistic active shooter environment.

Local law enforcement personnel were exposed to historical ‘active shooter’ events, assessment methods, training and tactical techniques that have proven effective in protection of life and in bringing incidents to a successful conclusion.

More than 50 officers (above and below) went through Wednesday’s P.O.S.T. training program.
