LHS Receives Threat Related to Nationwide Bomb Hoax

The Susanville Police Department has confirmed that Lassen High School received an anonymous bomb threat by email Wednesday, as did numerous schools across the country.

“Susanville Police Department began investigating the matter and contacted the FBI in that effort,” explains SPD Detective Richard Warner.

“The FBI is aware of the threat and advised that the same message was sent to other institutions across the nation.”

According to the department the message in the threat is similar to a wave of hoax threats that occurred in 2023 and at this time it does not appear to be a credible threat.

“Nevertheless, the Susanville Police Department and Lassen High School are not dismissing the message and encourage our citizens to remain vigilant to suspicious persons or activity.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Warner at 1.530.257.5603.
