LIHEAP Weather Bulletin: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Until 10PM Friday

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory that will be in effect until 10:00p.m. Friday.

Snow expected here in the valley with total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches, except 4 to 14 inches west of Highway 395.

Winds will be gusting as high as 45mph.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

There may be big differences in snow totals over short distances due to the showery nature of the storms. Snow will become more widespread and steady throughout the morning.

Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
