Measles Epidemic Strikes School
January 14, 1941
With an epidemic of influenza, which closed practically every school in the county late last year, subsiding, a flurry of measles threatens to close a number of schools.
According to N. H. McCollom, principal of the Lassen Union High School in Susanville, 17 students were bedridden yesterday and will be out from two to three weeks. A couple of others were dismissed today.
Horner Edgcomb, principal of the elementary schools of Susanville, reported 30 cases of measles among students yesterday, with prospects of more before the flurry ends.
