A multi-agency team comprised of 40 members executed three search warrants at residences in Milford and Doyle on September 25th. The search warrants were obtained after Lassen County Sheriff’s Office detectives learned each one of these residences were illegally cultivating large amounts of marijuana.
“Upon executing each of the search warrants,” explains LCSO Lieutenant Dave Woginrich, “detectives surveyed the plot sites, measuring their canopy size and collecting evidentiary samples.”
In Milford, the canopy size measured 9,959 feet with a total plant count of 386. Several bins of processed marijuana and an unregistered firearm were also seized. Possible cannabis tax that could be imposed is approximately $4,979.
A marijuana garden located on Doyle Grade, the canopy size measured 5,074 feet with a total plant count of 153. Possible cannabis tax that could be imposed is approximately $2,537.
A marijuana garden located in Doyle Flats, the canopy size measured 26,634 feet with a total plant count of 269. Possible cannabis tax that could be imposed is approximately $13,317.
According to Woginrich the size of these marijuana plants were substantial and eradication efforts were tedious, requiring a large amount of personnel working several hours. All of the seized marijuana was weighed and subsequently destroyed. The final measured weight was 7,980 pounds.
Lieutenant Woginrich and the Sheriff’s Office thanked personnel from the Department of Fish & Wildlife, US Forest Service, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and Lassen County Code Enforcement for their assistance in the operations.
