Oregon Man Uninjured After Pickup Overturns on Highway 395

A Selma, Oregon man walked away uninjured Wednesday after his 2004 Dodge Ram overturned on an icy Highway 395, he was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

On the afternoon of March 10th, according to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as 74-year old Danny Huffman, was driving northbound on Highway 395, approaching Jeter Road in Janesville when he lost control in the snowy and slippery conditions.

Huffman’s pickup crossed the southbound lane and left the west edge of the road where it overturned onto its left side. He was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the collision.

Huffman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

In the report the CHP reminded all motorists to reduce their speed when driving in inclement weather and that DUI does not just involve alcohol or illegal drugs. Prescription medications can impair your ability to be a safe driver. Always consult with your doctor or pharmacist before driving.
