Police and Fire Fighters Compete in Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive This Week

Vitalant Blood Services is partnering with local community heroes for the seventh annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive at the LDS Church, 905 Richmond Road, July 27th, 28th and 29th. All donors will receive a custom Battle T-Shirt.

“This event will be a friendly competition between law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel,” explains Vitalant representative Corry King.

“This collaborative campaign enables badge carrying personnel to positively impact their communities by participating in a spirited competition to see which agency can donate the most blood.”

The Battle of the Badges blood drive competition allows donors to choose which organizations they want to donate blood on behalf of; Law Enforcement, Fire Protection or SEMSA. Join United Blood Services and emergency responders in an effort to save lives on and off the job.

“Last year Fire won,” says King. “This year is anyone’s game.”

To donate blood, volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16 year old donors need minor donor permits which are available at the blood drive), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.
