How Does Crime Stoppers Work?
Each week the Lassen Crime Stoppers publish a list of people who are wanted by local law enforcement or ask for information from the public about a crime. People who have information call a special tip line (1.530.502.TIPS) and anonymously give information to authorities. If the tip turns out to be valuable for investigators it can be worth as much as $1,000 for the caller. Payments are also made through anonymous channels.
In the past twelve months more than 80 individuals have been listed on the weekly flyers, resulting in 246 tips from the public and 51 arrests as a direct result of Crime Stoppers’ efforts.
Lassen Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization it depends upon fundraising events and donations to be able to continue performing its essential work for the community.
