Hundreds of local heroes – first responders, law enforcement officers and an army of volunteers – delivered Christmas to the doorsteps of kids all over town Saturday as part of the Lassen County Holiday with a Hero program.
The group gathered early at the Lassen College parking lot, loading presents and setting off in five groups to distribute gifts around town.
Santa headed up each procession, which included fire engines from multiple agencies, vehicles from the Sheriff’s Office, Police Department, Probation and the Department of Corrections, along with busses from Lassen Rural Bus, ambulances from Semsa and a host of other volunteers.
