Two Honey Lake Valley residents were arrested for parole violations Wednesday after the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office conducted a compliance sweep of both CDCR parolees and sex offender registrants in Lassen County.
According to details released by Sheriff Dean Growdon, twenty-seven Deputies and Officers from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, California State Parole Office, High Desert State Prison and California Correctional Center made contact with parolees and sex registrants in Bieber, McArthur, Little Valley, Termo, Westwood, Clear Creek, Eagle Lake, Susanville, Janesville, Standish, Milford, Litchfield, Doyle, Herlong and Chilcoot during an operation which lasted from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Participating law enforcement officers assisted CDCR Parole agents in contacting parolees living in Lassen County.
“The goal is to verify that they are in compliance with their parole terms,” explains Sheriff Growdon. Sex offenders residing in Lassen County are required to report to local law enforcement agencies.
“During the course of this operation, officers contacted sex offenders to verify the accuracy of what the offenders have reported, and to investigate any violations of their reporting requirements.”
The operation resulted in the arrest of 47-year old Susanville resident Neil Stamper and 70-year old Janesville resident John Gravier, both on charges of parole violation.
“The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the agencies who assisted and commend all those involved for their dedication to ensuring the safety of the citizens of Lassen County.”
