Lassen High Superintendent Bill McCabe released a statement this afternoon advising students and parents that ‘until further notice’ the high school campus would be closed.
“At approximately 9:00a.m. this morning, the Lassen Union High School District shut down the schools within the District, (Lassen High, Community Day), at the direction of the Lassen County Public Health Department.
“The closure is a result of several community members and High School students who have become ill over the last week.
“All extra-curricular activities, sports and club organization events involving Lassen High students, have been ceased until further notice.
“Any information on the reason for the closure, people effected and anticipated return of students should be directed to the Lassen County Public Health Department.
“We will continue to work with the Health Department on when we can resume activities and allow students back on campus.”
