The Lassen County Fair is getting ready for their annual Holiday Light Festival – a brilliant display of lights at the fairgrounds created by local groups and organizations for people to drive through and enjoy. The amazing wonderland magically appears at the fairgrounds each year just in time for the holidays, with displays are expected to be bigger, brighter and more awe-inspiring than ever before.
The Fair will also feature a display of community decorated Christmas trees at the marquee on Main Street. The beautiful trees decorate the entrance of town, welcoming travelers throughout the holiday season.
This year the fair will be offering cash prizes for the three favorite displays in both the Christmas Light and Christmas Tree categories. First place in the Christmas Light display takes home $500, second place gets $250 and third place wins $100. For Christmas Tree displays first prize gets $250, second wins $100 and third place will receive $50.
The entry fee for both the Christmas Lights and Christmas Tree competition is $50. Entries are due by November 15th and all lights and trees must be up by December 1st.

Festival of Lights opens on December 3rd. Friday and Saturday gates are open 5:00 – 9:00p.m., and on Sunday, gates are open 5:00 – 8:00p.m.
Gates will be open the whole week from Friday, December 17th through the following Saturday, December 25th. The hours for December 24th, Christmas Eve, are 5:00 – 10:00p.m. Please note, Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th is walk through only, no cars. Drive-thru the fairway and see holiday light displays. Donations are accepted.
