Dear sweet Chloe is easy to pass over in the kennels by visitors because she prefers to hide. It’s stressful in a loud and crowded shelter, which makes coping with strangers stopping to look at her difficult. However, once Chloe gets outside in the play and runs for some fresh air and space to stretch her legs, she’s a different dog. She smiles and runs and plays. She demands plenty of attention. It’s a fun transformation to witness.
Chloe is looking for someone with patience and understanding to build a bond with and is longing for a new home with her very own yard to call her own. She’s thought to be a border collie mix and is estimated to be about 2 years of age. Chloe has been getting along with other dogs here at the shelter during evaluations so far.
Currently, Chloe still needs to be spayed, but can be adopted from the Lassen County Animal Shelter on a $40 spay/neuter deposit (plus cost of license), which the adopter will be refunded once they show proof of spay. It will be the adopter’s responsibility to ensure Chloe is spayed within 60 days and they will be fully responsible for all expenses. However, financial assistance for spay/neuters may be available to Lassen County residents through the Lassen Humane Society.

Additional: If there are dogs already in the home, it is suggested that potential adopters bring them to the shelter to do a meet and greet with the new dog.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
