Baseball: Renegades off to a good start

The Susanville Rernegades 17U Team hosted the Tehama Bulls (Red Bluff) on Saturday June 11 at Memorial Park. In a doubleheader, Susanville won the first game 12-2, and won the second 11-10 in extra innings. In the opener, Jake Bennett started for the Renegades and Micha Root pitched two score innings in relief to pick up the win. The offense was led by Bennett (two doubles) and Jagger Delgado with three hits. Cole Dyer and Carson Chavez each had two hits.

In the second game Susanville led going into the top of the 7th inning by four runs. Tehama scored five to take the lead. Susanville tied it up in the bottom of the 7th and in the bottom of the 8th inning. Seth McCart pitched two scoreless innings in relief. The offensive leader was Wade Schluter who had three hits and scored the winning run.

On Sunday the Renegades 15U Team traveled to Redding to play a doubleheader at Field Of Dreams. Susanville played the Nor Cal (Enterprise H.S.)and one 6-3. Scott Lewis started and Wyatt Laranaga picked up the win in relief. Malek Delgado and Cole Dyer each had two hits for Susanville.

In the second game the Renegades faced the North State Wolf Pack 16U Team and lost 12-2. Miles Ormachea and Cole Dyer each had two hits for Susanville.

The 15U team host North Valley H.S. at 4:00 for a doubleheader at Memorial Park on Monday at 4:00. On Saturday The 17U Team travels to Reed H.S. for a doubleheader at 12:00.
