Celebrating Wildflowers

After a remarkedly long winter, blooming wildflowers are a promising sign that perhaps summer is right around the corner.

In recognition of this, the Lassen National Forest is “Celebrating Wildflowers” all this week.

Throughout this special week, the Forest will promote the importance of native plant conservation, with an emphasis on the beauty and value of wildflowers.

During the week, displays depicting a variety of wildflowers common to our area will be available to the public, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at three Forest locations.

These include the Lassen National Forest Supervisor’s Office, located at 2550 Riverside Drive, Susanville; the Eagle Lake Ranger District Office, 477-050 Eagle Lake Road, Susanville; and the Almanor Ranger District Office, 900 E. Highway 36, Chester.

A variety of free materials will be offered, including wildflower posters, magnets, frisbees, and guides to some of the wildflower viewing spots within the Lassen National Forest.
