Dense freezing fog and extremely icy roadways have led to dangerous driving conditions and numerous traffic accidents along Highway 395 between Susanville and Reno.
The California Highway Patrol is recommending speeds not to exceed 40 miles an hour.
Roadways are iciest between Janesville and the Herlong Junction and the National Weather Service says that the dense freezing fog c0uld stick around until mid-afternoon.
