It was an absolutely beautiful weekend for the first ever Diamond Mountain Balloon Races on the tarmac at the Susanville Airport.
Both Saturday and Sunday morning offered spectacular views as the balloons launched out over the valley.
The balloon races, coordinated by the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, brought pilots from throughout the west coast, and gave local fans a chance to crew and ride the skies.
