Demolition work continues today on the old Lassen County Jail at the corner of Court and Roop Streets in uptown Susanville.
The flattening is being done on the jail that served Lassen County for several decades beginning in 1970, not to be confused with Lassen’s historic jail on the same property.
According to Larry Millar, Lassen County’s Public Works Director, the demolition will continue into next week, and the area where the jail stood will be graded and left flat for the time being.
Work on the project is being completed by Walberg Construction out of Corning.
