Gregory Warren Stevens – February 12, 2016

 

Gregory Warren Stevens passed away February 12, 2016 at his home with his Wife by his side. Greg was born November 2, 1953 to the late Emmett and Florence Stevens of Alderpoint, Ca. He graduated from Southfork High School where he excelled in football, wrestling, and baseball. He moved to Westwood after high school to start school at Lassen College.

After, he began working in the logging industry, he knew it was the life for him. He became a timberfeller and later partnered with his twin brother Jeff, as co-owner of Stevens and Stevens Timber-falling. He continued to run his business side by side with his brother until his illness began.

Greg met his wife Regina and they had three boys together, Josh, Jeremy, and Ryan.

Greg loved his family, job, and sports. He loved to watch his boys play sports for Westwood High School, and later his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, bowling, and golfing. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as watching sports on TV. He coached Westwood Little league for years and was a part of the Westwood High School chain gang.

Greg was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Stevens, and nephew Kevin Stevens. Greg leaves behind his loving wife Regina of Westwood, son Josh and daughter-in-law Sheila of Cottonwood, Jeremy and his girlfriend Tammy of Utica, New York, son Ryan of Beaverton, Oregon, and grandchildren Selena, Joel, Jaycelyn, and Leila. He also leaves behind his siblings Joyce Russell of Redding, Ca. Dianne Stevens of Davis, Ca. and Rodney, Linda, and Jeff Stevens all of Westwood, Ca. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Greg on February 20, 2016 at the Westwood Community Center.

The family requests that donations be made to Westwood High School for the Stevens, Madden, Barrerra Scholarship, in lieu of flowers
