Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Update for September 5th

The Chamber board is accepting applications to fill a board vacancy. Chamber members interested are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, September 6th. Stop by our office at 1516 Main Street to pick up a Board of Directors application or contact the office to have one forwarded to you.

The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, for their monthly board meeting that will begin at 12:00p.m., at the Diamond Mountain Casino Boardroom. The board encourages member attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board, please contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.

Mark your calendar for the September Chamber Mixer, hosted by the Lassen Association of Realtors, Thursday, September 15th from 5:30 to 7:30p.m., located at 1740 Main Street in Susanville. Live music from the Villebilly’s and Vegas Double Down BBQ will be catering. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of fun; everyone is welcome, you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend. LMUD is hosting its Customer Appreciation Day! Join LMUD for lunch on Thursday, September 8th from 11:30 to 1:00p.m., to celebrate you, the customers and the community they proudly serve! This year, lunch will be served at the future home of LMUD, 50 N. Gay St. (the former Bank of America building). They will have an event tent set up in the parking lot with plenty of seating, so plan on staying a while, visiting with your friends and neighbors and enjoying your lunch! While you’re there, pick up some cool, LMUD Swag and sign up to win a $100 LMUD Energy Gift Card.

Join Every Bloomin’ Thing Garden Center and Gift Shoppe for their Fall Farmhouse Wreath Class, Friday, September 9th at 5:30p.m. The cost is $55 for a 12” wreath or $65 for a 14” wreath. Usher fall in with a beautifully crafted farmhouse wreath. Add air plants, succulents, moss, cattails, twigs, leaves, feathers, and other natural materials to make your own unique fall art. CCC & HDSP Cram the Van event will be held September 9th from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Susanville IGA. They will be accepting canned goods, dry foods, non-perishable, and toiletries. For more information, contact (530) 257-4599.

Diamond Mountain Casino presents High Desert Brawl, Saturday, September 10th; Doors open at 6:00p.m., and the fights are to begin at 7:00p.m. Open to all ages, get your tickets today at Diamond Mountain Casino.

Join the Lassen County Arts Council at The Cottage Street Gallery on September 10th at 6:00p.m. for the first-ever Mural Tour! Enjoy local Historian Janet Corey as she narrates the guided tour. Light refreshments will be provided after the tour; feel free to bring a folding chair, water, or a light jacket. Mural books will be available for purchase. Susanville Fire Department will mark the 21st anniversary of the World Trade Center Tragedy. Susanville City Fire Chef James Moore is inviting the public to join the department in commemoration of the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other innocent victims whose lives were ended by the tragic terrorist attack of September 11th, 2001. The Susanville Fire Department is joining with remembrance being held all across the country on September 11th. Just before 7:00a.m., the group will assemble in from of the fire hall’s flagpole, the Honor Guard will present the colors and there will be a moment of silence and prayer the Ceremony will begin promptly at 7:05a.m. If you have any questions, please phone the Susanville Fire Department at (530)257-5152.

Mark your calendar for Summer Blowout at Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel, Saturday, September 17th from 4:00 to 10:00p.m. This end-of-summer community get-together is free to the public and open to all ages. Vendors pay no fee, and food trucks and craft booths are welcome. Live entertainment by Velvet Neon. For more information, contact 530.252.1100.

Join the fun for the 22nd Annual High Country Cruise, Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 – 4:00p.m., at Memorial Park in Susanville. This event is for pre-1975 cars and trucks and the entry fee is only $25. There will be raffle prizes, food concessions, vendors, and music by Jocko! All proceeds from the car show go to charity. Don’t miss the 8th annual Courage Triathlon at the Lake Almanor Country Club, Saturday, September 24th starting at 10:00a.m. This event is open to the public and will feature eleven vendors, pizza, coffee, snow cones, burgers, and an inspirational day all around for a good cause. Join Bottle & Brush Art Bar for an Oktoberfest celebration, Saturday, September 24th from 6:00 – 9:00p.m. There will be samples of a variety of beers from around the world as well as domestic craft beers. Lassen County Fair is hosting its 1st Annual Oktoberfest, September 30th – October 1st at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. This two-day event will have beer tastings, a best-dressed contest, mustache contest, adult competitions, live music, kid-friendly activities and more!
