Students Paint Schools Emblem

The big L on Antelope Mountain, about three miles from town was whitewashed by the freshman class of the Lassen Union High School last Tuesday. The L is formed by hundreds of closely packed stones.
Combining picnic pleasure with painting, freshman boys went out to start the chore early in the morning, and the girls of the class joined them at 11 a.m. and stayed until 2:30 p.m.
Class advisors, Miss Naomi Giddings and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Nielson, assisted by Assistant Principal, M. R. Arnold, were with the freshmen. This is the first time the L had been repainted in four years.
