Main Street Collision Snarls Traffic, Sends Three to Banner Lassen

The Susanville Police Department today released details of a Friday afternoon Main Street traffic collision which sent three people to Banner Lassen Medical Center with injuries sustained in the crash.

According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, officers from the department responded to the 1100 block of Main Street on a reported traffic collision involving multiple injured subjects.

When they arrived on-scene officers found a white 1995 Ford Escort with major front end damage blocking the #2 westbound lane in front of Papa Murphys Pizza, across from Lassen High.

The other vehicle involved in the collision, a white 2007 Ford Escape, was located partially blocking the #2 westbound lane and the entrance to Papa Murphys Pizza.

The driver of the Escape was identified by the Police Department as 25 year-old Susanville resident Debra McLeod. McLeod was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center by ambulance with chest and neck pain.

The driver of the Escort, a 17 year-old juvenile whose name was not released, was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center by her parent with a contusion to her right hand.

The passenger in the Escort, 18 year-old Janesville resident Kathyuska Roadifer, was transported by ambulance to Banner Lassen Medical Center with a contusion to her nose.

According to Lieeutenant Wood the case remains under investigation and the department is encouraging anyone with information to call their 24-hour dispatch line at 257-2171. You can remain anonymous if you wish.
