Old Timer’s Day at the Fair

Today is ‘Old Timer’s Day’ at the Lassen County Fair.

4H and FFA Judging begins in the North Arena and the Pavilion at 8:00.a.m.

Gates will be open from 11:00a.m. to 11p.m. and the carnival opens at noon.

At noon on the north grandstand lawn Lassen County will hold their annual ‘Employee of the Year’ luncheon. During the lunch the Lassen County ‘Employee of the Year’ is announced and awarded a gift and a plaque.

The winners of the 2011 Old Timer of The Year contest will be presented with an award this afternoon at 1:00 on the Bekins’ Stage.

The annual Apple Pie Contest, a long standing fair tradition, will be held this morning. The first place winner will receive $50.00, second place $25.00 and third place will receive $15.00. After judging is complete the pies are served at the Old Timers celebration!

Rock and Roll on the grounds this evening with AudioBoxx and the Spitfire Lab Band and of course the big event of the year, Coors Light Country Night featuring Country Superstar Joe Nichols, kicks off at 8:00 in the grandstands. Tickets are still on sale.
