It was a busy day at the Lassen Library as lots of folks dropped by to celebrate National Library Week, and the Lassen Library’s past, present and future, at Saturday’s special day-long event.
Susanville pioneer women portrayed by Marka Hemphill and Ginger Martinez told of the local library’s history. They were joined by author Sandra Jonas who portrayed town namesake Susan Roop Arnold.
The celebration included a performance by a trio of native American dancers who are part of a group that will be performing at the SIR Susanville Pow-Wow in May.
In the conference room at the library people got a hands-on look at new technology, and the library’s future, with a 3D printer and a really cool display of maps provided by Alison Templeton and NST Engineering.
Kids had a chance to do artwork, and enjoyed a special program in the children’s section of the library.
Friends of the Library sold book bags and the Lassen Aurora Network sold popcorn and drinks.
