The Susanville Police Department is looking for a suspect who reportedly robbed the Mobil Gas Station on Main Street in Susanville late Tuesday night, making off with the money in the cash register after threatening the store’s clerk with a handgun.
According to details released this morning by Susanville Chief of Police Kevin Jones, officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at around 10:00p.m., and contacted the clerk of the store who told them that just five minutes earlier a person dressed in all black clothing, including a black ski mask, had robbed the mini-mart.
“The person pulled what was described as a snub nose revolver from his waist,” said Chief Jones in the report, “pointed it at the clerk and demanded all the money from the cash register.”
After he was given the money from the register the suspect left the store towards the alley and east. The clerk immediately called the Police Department after the suspect left.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot tall and slender.
Chief Jones asks that anyone residing in the area of 1901 Main Street who has video surveillance at their residence to review footage for anyone walking in the area around 10:00. You can also contact the Police Department and they will review the footage with you.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact the Police Department at 257-2171.
