Lassen Community College presented its 2023 Commencement ceremony on May 26th, celebrating the achievements of nearly 100 graduates in front of friends and family who gathered for the occasion on the quad at the college’s Highway 139 campus. Graduates came from both the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters.
It was a beautiful commencement, held outside for the first time in recent memory, beginning with the National Anthem sung by Liudmilla Mullin who was accompanied by Dennis Roberts on piano.
The college’s Superintendent and President Carie Camacho introduced speakers for the evening who included AJ Instructor Tom Downing, who gave a blessing, Interim Dean of Academic Services Colleen Baker, Alumna of the Year Linda Zamora Wilson and student speakers Paul Felix, JoAnna Parvin and Dawn Mateo.
The Governing Board presented diplomas to each graduate.
