Since 1993 it’s become an annual tradition for lots of Lassen County families to take a drive to Milford this time of year and visit Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch.
Not only does the Wemple family have a great selection of Lassen County grown pumpkins and gourds, but you can also enjoy some great home cooked food and treats, wagon rides, a display of classic restored tractors, animals and the ever popular corn maze.
The Pumpkin Patch offers you a chance to hand pick from over fifteen varieties of pumpkins ranging in all sizes, shapes and colors right off of the vine.
Because the pumpkins are picked fresh, they are certain to last well into the fall season.
The Pumpkin Patch Country Store, carries everything needed to decorate for the fall harvest including an assortment of home items, bath product and children’s toys.
In the cookhouse you can enjoy a fresh, hot off the BBQ hamburger or hot dog, homemade soup of the day or one of their famous caramel apples. There is even a large grass area and tables for a picnic.
Tractors are an essential part of the Pumpkin Patch and the rest of the Wemple Ranch. Fred and Matt Wemple are avid collectors and restorers of tractors and enjoying displaying them for all to see and touch.
Another big favorite each year at the ranch is Matt Wemple’s corn maze. Created and designed by Matt, the maze is approximately three acres in size and has miles of trails. The $3.00 entrance fee provides endless twists, turns and dead ends, creating a fun family challenge that will long be remembered.
