Customers wishing to subscribe to Lassen Municipal Utility District’s Text Alert System have a new number to text and sign-up after technical difficulties at a text alert provider made it necessary to abandon the original number.
If you wish to subscribe to the outage alert system, which will send a text message to your smartphone or device when the utility has important information to pass along, simply text the letters LMUD to the new number, 95577.
“Current LMUD text alert subscribers have been migrated to the new number,” explains LMUD Energy Services Manager Theresa Phillips,”no other action is required in order to continue to receive text alerts.”
According to Phillips the only noticeable change will be that the alerts will now come from the new number – 95577.
If you are not currently subscribed to the LMUD Text Alert System you can do so by simply texting the letters LMUD to the number 95577.
Text alerts are generally sent out when there is an outage that affects the majority of LMUD customers. Alerts are used to provide information on either planned outages or unexpected outages. Outage information may also be obtained by visiting the utility’s web site, www.lmud.org and clicking on the outage information link.
