Court-Appointed Special Advocates of Lassen Family Services is pleased to bring a virtual training to Lassen County about Generational Trauma. Presenter Nola Brantley will train on the patterns of trauma across the lifespan and how they affect individuals from childhood to adulthood.
“This training will focus on the effects on foster youth and how providers can support youth in overcoming barriers such as poverty, substance use, incarceration, and more,” explains CASA Coordinator Jessica Ellis.
For providers working with foster youth and their families, learn how to better support and assist them from a generational perspective to overcome these barriers.
The Presenter, Nola Brantley is best known publicly as a nationally acclaimed advocate who has played a large role in spear-heading the DMST/CSEC awareness and advocacy movement in the state of California since 2001.
“It’s essential for providers to understand generational trauma and how to work with foster youth from a generational perspective,” says Brantley.
“Without this perspective, we can have unrealistic expectations for youth and their families and encounter barriers to engagement. Providers will learn strategies to support youth with generational patterns of trauma within their families”
The training will be held from 9:30a.m. until 4:30p.m. on Wednesday, November 17th, through Zoom. Click here to register at Eventbrite.
