Last week was Law Enforcement Appreciation Week and on Monday Lassen Family Services presented the organization’s “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” award to the Susanville Police Department on behalf of fallen Officer Ryan Barham.
“Each year, the Law Enforcement of the Year award is presented to a deserving officer, one who has stood out in various situations throughout the year,” LFS Executive Director Angela Reed said in a brief ceremony. “Typically, it’s so difficult choosing the person who receives this award because there are so many people that deserve it. This year the decision was easy, we wanted to recognize and give thanks to Officer Barham who sacrificed his life in serving others.”
“Officer Barham continued in his pursuit of justice and of helping others in the midst of the pandemic and for that we are honored to be able to present this award and to say, “his memory remains.”
