A Solano county resident, wanted on a homicide charge out of Fairfield, was arrested Monday evening in Herlong, after an observant Lassen County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a medical call and recognized the suspect, who they say has been hiding in the area to avoid arrest.
“Detectives from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office have been working with investigators from the Fairfield Police Department to determine the whereabouts of Milton O’Neal,” explains LCSO Captain Mike Carney who added that O’Neal was wanted for Murder and Domestic Violence.
“Fairfield Police Department Investigators provided pictures and a physical description of O’Neal to Detectives from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office. Information was developed that O’Neal may have been hiding in Lassen County in order to avoid arrest.”
Monday evening deputies responded to assist for a medical aid type call at a residence in Herlong, where they contacted an individual that matched O’Neal’s description.
“O’Neal provided the Deputy with a false name and date of birth. The deputy detained O’Neal and was able to positively identify him shortly there-after.”
The suspect was placed under arrest without incident, and transported to the Lassen County Jail where he was booked for two separate Solano County warrants, charged with 187(a) PC- Murder and 273.5(a) PC- Corporal Injury to spouse.
O’Neal is being held in custody without bail.
