New Owners at Grocery Outlet; Expect to See the Same Quality and Some Change

A SusanvilleStuff Feature

Dennis and  Kathy Marquard are no strangers to the Grocery Outlet business.  After owning a Grocery Outlet in  Tuscon Arizona for over 14 years, they came to Susanville  with excitement after visiting  over 17 years ago and enjoying everything  our small town has to offer and the climate.

” When we came for a visit over 17 years ago, we thought Susanville, was just a really nice area, and when the opportunity came, we took it.” said Dennis.

When walking into Grocery Outlet there are some apparent visible  changes.   The front entrance is lined with items for less then a dollar and the Marquards say it has really taken off.

“It has been a success so far, I think because people can immediately see what they can make for their families at a low cost,” said Dennis.

Frequent Grocery Outlet shoppers can also expect to see an expanded selection of items including more organics, gluten free products,  as well as just a more broad spectrum of items.

“We are trying to improve everything for the customers from customer service to a wider variety of items, more organics, and just geting the customers really what they need,” said Dennis.

The wine selection will continue to be abundant through out the store promising affordable prices and a wide selection. The store is also once again accepting food stamps.

Grocery Outlet offers brand name products at up to 50% off conventional retail prices. their offering is wide: groceries, frozen, deli & refrigerated, produce, fresh meat, general merchandise — seasonal products, housewares, toys, and gifts — health & beauty, and a most impressive inventory of beer & wine.

They keep prices affordable because buyers shop the nation and the world by traveling thousands of miles each year just so they can offer the best brand-named products for less than you would pay conventionally.

Along with offering customer service,  and a wide selection of quality products at a discount price, the new owners are looking forward to investing in the community.

“I always wanted a business of my own and Grocery Outlet is a great business,” said Dennis.  “We wanted a business we could grow and help to be part of the community.”

There is a section at the front of the store offering items under one dollar.
