Calling all husky savvy dog owners! Fritz needs a person who understands his breed and tendencies.
Fritz arrived at the shelter as a stray and OH-BOY does he have energy to burn. He is your typical husky; Fritz can and WILL find a way out of a fully fenced backyard. He’s athletic and routinely practices parkour in his kennel, EASILY reaching and nearly standing on the center divider between his and his neighbor’s kennel. Due to this, Fritz had to be moved to a kennel in the shelter with a top on it. It is also recommended for Fritz’s prospective adopter to be prepared for this escape artist and install a covered kennel of their own.
So far, Fritz gets along with other dogs through fencing, though further evaluations need to be done to see how he does with other shelter pups nose to nose. Overall, he is happy and energetic. He loves to play and get cuddles. Staff recommends a cat free home due to huskies typically having high prey drives. Fritz is estimated to be about 4 years old. He will be neutered, brought up to date on his vaccinations, and heartworm tested prior to adoption. Additional: If there are dogs already in the home, it is suggested that potential adopters bring them to the shelter to do a meet and greet with the new dog.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis.
