Forest Service Submitting OHV Grant Proposal for Ground Operations

Each year, the Lassen National Forest has an opportunity to submit grant applications to the California State Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division for consideration for funding in support of the Forest’s ongoing Off-Highway Vehicle program.

As part of the state’s 2024 grant cycle, the forest is submitting a forest-wide proposal for a ground operations project that includes Off-Highway Vehicle area maintenance, cleanup, volunteer support, and monitoring.

As part of the application process, stakeholders are encouraged to make comments on submitted applications. The comments will be used to shape the final grant application package which is due to the California State Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division by June 3rd.

Preliminary applications for the 2024 projects will be made available for review and comment on the California State Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division’s website beginning March 5, 2024. Interested parties can find more information about Lassen’s Off-Highway Vehicle program on Lassen National Forest’s website.

In addition to the California State Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division’s website, public comments regarding the proposed project may be submitted in writing to Janie Ackley, Lassen National Forest Recreation Program Manager, at 2550 Riverside Drive, Susanville, CA 96130, or electronically to [email protected] by May 6th, 2024.

For more information contact Janie Ackley at 530-250-7283.
