The Lassen County Animal Shelter is calling on experienced cat lovers. Lenny is eager to find his new forever home. Could it be with you?
Staff has been getting to know Lenny since his intake back in March and he is quite the character. Lenny was an owner surrender due to his intense personality and high prey drive. These two qualities (amongst others) have staff speculating whether he very well may be a Bengal cross. Potential adopters are encouraged to thoroughly research this breed, as they are not your average house cat and require experienced owners.
Lenny is incredibly active, talkative, an amazing mouser/hunter, and affectionate. However, his affections can quickly turn to overstimulated nibbles and grabs. This is the type of cat who needs to be exercised and played with, with cat wands to keep your hands scratch and nibble free.
Additionally, Lenny loathes other cats. Period. At this time, Lenny lives in the outside enclosed catio at the shelter to give him ample space to climb and exercise while also keeping him away from other cats. He truly goes into hunt mode around other felines and it would be in a person’s best interest to stay clear of him when he gets in this zone.
His ideal home will be with cat knowledgeable adults. His intense personality and temperament is too much to pair with children. Lenny would also do well in a barn or shop to keep mouse populations in check, while simultaneously making sure no other cats encroach on his territory.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis.
