Lucky Youth Wins Bicycle
October 22, 1934

The Golden Rule Store, took on the general appearance of the payoff booth in the Irish Sweepstakes this Wednesday when more than one hundred and fifty Susanville children milled about in hopeful confusion for the drawing on the free bicycle given away by that firm.

Young Johnny Soloago was the boy with the lucky number and amid the envious stares of his comrades he walked triumphantly from the store with his newly won bicycle.

Ben Lyle, proprietor of the store was seen to wearily wipe his brow as the last child disappeared.
