Police Step Up Patrols After Rash of Commercial Burglaries

policeupdate3Police are investigating a week-long rash of commercial burglaries in Susanville which have left a trail of shattered doors and windows in businesses up and down Main Street.

Several storefronts were damaged on Thursday and Friday nights including Nu 2 U, Margie’s Book Nook and Milwood Florist.

“We have stepped up our patrol efforts and are working every possible lead we may have to identify and apprehend these offenders,” said Police Chief Tom Downing on Sunday.

In several cases windows and doors were smashed without any property being taken.

The commercial burglaries are under investigation and Chief Downing is asking Susanville residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity, no matter how trivial it may appear.
