A Lassen College student was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail Tuesday after allegedly threatening violence against school staff over a financial aid issue.
At around 11:00 Tuesday morning officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to Lassen College after school staff reported that a student had called the campus and threatened violence over a financial issue.
Through the course of the investigation, according to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, officers learned that 22 year-old Susanville resident Teric Morris had called the school and threatened to come to the college and kill everyone with a firearm because he was angry over not receiving his financial aid in a timely manner.
“Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Hall Street and contacted Morris who was taken into custody without incident,” said Lieutenant Wood. “Morris was booked into the Lassen County Jail on one count of making terrorist threats and held on $20,000 bail.”
The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
