The California Highway Patrol has released details of a collision that occurred Tuesday evening during a dust storm just south of Diane Drive on US Highway 395.
According to the CHP report the driver of a 2008 Chevy, 46 year-old Susanville resident Joan Hernandez, entered an area of blowing dust with limited visibility and struck the rear of a slow moving vehicle ahead of her. That vehicle was a 2014 Ford driven by Susanville resident Teresa Fork.
Both drivers and a passenger, 58 year-old Greg Fork, were transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of minor and moderate injuries.
An additional passenger in Fork’s vehicle was uninjured in the wreck.
A third vehicle, this one driven by an unidentified minor, was stopped near the accident and was struck by flying debris.
