kidsartclubThe Board of Directors at the Lassen County Arts Council are reaching out to the community, looking for artists and art lovers who would like to be a part of our area’s thriving arts scene. The Arts Council relies on the partnerships with local individuals and businesses as a critical source of revenue and support in funding it’s programs. Since the group’s inception in 1971 performances and educational programs have been made possible with support from those of you who love our community and care about arts and culture.

For two summers now the Art of Wild Horses installation, with hundreds of wooden horses decorated by local businesses and displayed during the county fair, has set a great example of families, service groups and local businesses coming together to support public art. This year alone the Art of Wild Horses raised over $1,800 dollars that is being used for programs and activities.

According to the council more than 100 children enrolled in 15 workshops through organization’s free Summer Youth Art Program, made possible through grants from US Bank and the Susanville Elks Lodge.

“We continue to seek funding opportunities that will allow us to offer workshops and programs to serve our community,” the letter also said. “LCAC is committed to bringing our community opportunities and programming that will enrich the lives of families through exposure and access to the arts.”

The Lassen County Arts Council offers the community a variety of services and programs including concerts, gallery exhibits, art classes and workshops. Providing opportunities for artists to meet, exchange ideas, perform, sell their artwork and to promote their talent.

The council works hard to support the visual, performing and literary arts.
