Looking for something fun to do with Mom this weekend? The Lassen County Arts Council will be hosting a special Mother’s Day Cork and Canvas party – a fun, group activity where you create your own masterpiece while enjoying an afternoon with friends!
No art experience is required for participants who will follow along with the Arts Council’s artist in a step-by-step process to replicate a featured painting.
The Arts Council will provide everything you need including artist instruction, 16×20 canvas, paint, brushes, easels and apron. Drinks and snacks are also provided and the session will last approximately 2 ½ hours, beginning at 3:00p.m. this Saturday, May 9th.
Cork and Canvas is an adult event, no one under 21 is permitted. Pre-payment is required to reserve your place in the event, as it is limited to 16 people. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.

The Arts Council is also offering Cork and Canvas private parties that are great for Girls Night Out, birthday celebrations, family reunions, baby showers, going away party, office party, and more. A minimum charge of eight participants is required. You must be a member of LCAC to host a party in the Gallery. The price is $200 for the first 8 guests and $25 for each additional participant up to 15 guests. A $200 deposit will reserve your date and a 14-day cancellation notice is required.
Kids and Canvas
Kids and Canvas is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday party, end-of-year celebration, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Mommy and Me, and more! Kids can enjoy the art experience too with a private event like the adults. Children at the party will be lead by an artist as they re-create their selected painting. The arts group provides the same materials as the Cork and Canvas events, however the canvas size is 11×14.
Refreshments are not included at the children’s private events to keep the cost down, however you are permitted to bring in your own food, drinks, and cake.
Three hours is allowed for birthday parties so the children can enjoy dessert and presents while their masterpiece dries. You must be a member of LCAC to host a party in the Gallery. The price is $100 for the first 8 guests and $10 for each additional guest with a maximum number of 15 attendees. A $100 deposit reserves your date and a 14-day cancellation notice is required.
